Missions

Outstanding Sunday for Bring a Friend to church on the 18th of November with 82 in attendance for worship. I think we got a chance to show off our church and our Lord. What can you say about the meal afterwards…simply delicious…Our thanks for the many who helped make this such a success especially our cooks John Lowe and Rick Leonard.
Oh, and the Christmas Boxes were delivery to our drop off here in Salisbury and what a show of generosity from our church with 37 completed boxes. We also collected 150.00 towards the donation for shipping charges. My heart just got two sizes bigger.(Grinch Movie)
Our choir will be presenting on December the 16, 2018 the cantata “Forever God is With Us” finding our way home for Christmas.
More information to follow on our church wide praying, hopefully to start in the next fews weeks as we look forward to 2019 and what God has in store for Franklin. Please notice in the vestibule as you come in, there will be a saying of inspiration or bible verse to motivate us and to make remind us that God is in control of Franklin, of us and this world. More positive in means less negative out.
“The Porch”, coming soon to our church. Pray for this endeavor, as it is something we can all do together.

Sincerely,
Doug Foxworth

Helping Others

Rowan Helping Ministries
Our volunteers from Franklin pick up and deliver food on Tuesdays from Food Lion #1 that they donate to Rowan Helping Ministries to help the less fortunate. We continue to request members bring non-perishable goods to put in the box in the vestibule for Rowan Helping Ministries.

A Big “THANK YOU” to our Delivery Volunteers!!!

Battered Women's Shelter
As we continue to help the folks at the Battered Women's Shelter be aware of their need for bed pillows, dryer sheets, laundry detergent, Swiffer sheets (that wrap around), coffee, creamer, sugar, hamburger helper meals, summer clothing.

Any question please see Grace or Bonnie.

Thank you for your help!

I knelt to pray when day was done,
And prayed, O Lord, bless everyone;
Lift from each saddened heart the pain,
And let the sick be well again.”

And then I woke another day
And carelessly I went on my way.
The whole day long I did not try
To wipe a tear from any eye;

I did not try to share the load
Of any brother on my road;
I did not even go to see
The sick man just next door to me.

Yet once again when day was done
I prayed, “O Lord, bless everyone.”
But as I prayed, into my ear
There came a voice that whispered clear:

“Pause, hypocrite, before you pray;
Whom have you tried to bless today?
God’ sweet blessings always go
By hands that serve Him here below.”

And then I hid my face and cried,
“Forgive me, Lord, for I have lied;
Let me but see another day
And I will live the way I pray.””
